Win A Relaxing Break For Two To The New Forest

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity. Founded in 1972, the Trust was the first to stand against spiralling threats to our precious woods and trees, and remains at the forefront of the fight to protect, plant and restore ancient woodland.

Classic FM has teamed up with the Woodland Trust to give you the chance to win a relaxing break in the New Forest, including three nights’ accommodation at The Pig Hotel, Brockenhurst, with breakfast and dinner included.

Ancient woodlands are areas which have had woodland cover for centuries and have been relatively undisturbed by human activity. Over hundreds of years, they’ve evolved into complex communities of trees, plants, fungi, microorganisms and insects. They are a vital home and a source of food for a wide variety of wildlife, from bats and birds to foxes, and they provide some of the richest pickings and the safest shelter.

The UK has the largest number of ancient trees in Europe, but most of these are not protected. Once vast, they now cover just two per cent of the UK. The Woodland Trust wants to ensure these historic natural monuments last for hundreds more years. By working with landowners and partners, the Trust aims to restore damaged ancient woods through careful management.

But the Woodland Trust can’t achieve this vision alone. Becoming a member of the Trust is one of the best ways to support its work. By joining, you can help protect, restore and create the woods you love.

There are membership types to suit everyone starting from just £3 per month.
